A donation of $10,000 from the Westpac Foundation will enable the Hunter Community Foundation to recruit four more schools to the Breakfast Program.
Westpac staff at Hunter branches will assist HCF to identify schools in their area that would benefit from the program.

The Hunter Community Foundation will again have funds to distribute to schools in the Hunter Valley. Money has been made available in the form of $50 back to school vouchers and there area also funds for schools' Breakfast Clubs.

Community foundations from around Australia gathered on the Tweed Coast of NSW for the annual forum in August, 2011.
There were more than 60 delegates and speakers and workshops addressed the benefits of community foundations, the regulations governing their administration and the great good they could and are doing within their communities.

Two initiatives have been used by the Hunter Community Foundation to assist school students in our region.
For the second year in succession, Back to School Vouchers have been made available to Greta, Hinton, Kurri Kurri, Windale and Woodberry Schools to assist families in providing uniforms and learning material that the families might otherwise not have been able to afford.

More than 200 of Marcus Madden’s friends and supporters attended a benefit luncheon held in his honour in late May.
Many thousands of dollars were raised to assist Marcus, who suffered horrific injuries in a car accident, to support himself and his young family during his rehabilitation.

Scott van Epen has retired as a director of the Hunter Community Foundation as of May, 2011.

The Hunter Community Foundation will once again be the beneficiary of the Doggy Funday to be held on Morpeth Common on Saturday, September 24.
This is the second year this event has been held, and it will be the second time some of the profits will be donated to the foundation.
